Tamdil

Ṭam Dil is a reservoir lake situated 6 km from Saitual, the nearest town, and 110 km from Aizawl, the capital city of Mizoram, India. Acquired by the Fisheries Department of the Government of Mizoram, it is maintained as a fish rearing site. Also as a tourist attraction, a holiday resort is maintained by the Tourism Department.

Sialsuk Tlang
The Exotic Green Splendour of Sialsuk is a one-day camping experience full of exploration, adventurous sports, and unique sights and cultural experiences. This tour spans over four local villages located in the Aizawl district, namely Falkawn, Lungleng, Hmuifang, Sialsuk. This region is surrounded by vegetation-covered hills, lesser-explored forests and has a rich local culture and history. This tour is a great option if you and your partner are on a short trip but still want to experience the best of Mizoram. The camping tour will commence at Falkawn village. Here, you will get to immerse yourself in the local culture and traditions and visit historical places. Some of these are the museum at the old Mizo Chief’s House, Zawlbuk, Pum (blacksmith), commoners house & the memorial stones of the freedom fighters. Then, the tour continues at Muallungthu village. This village is famous because the Tropic of Cancer passes through its territory. Here, you will have a hearty breakfast at the Tourist Resort before the adventure begins. The outdoor activities will begin with a nature walk in the unexplored Hmuifang forest. It will lead to the green, vegetation-covered mountain peak where you can enjoy a picnic, set up camps, and enjoy the gorgeous views. Next, the tour will head to LAD Park where you will get to see the lush green forest, tree houses, and hanging bridges. The experience then resumes at Hmuifang village, which is 15 minutes walk on foot. This serene and humble village is located on the hillock and has breathtaking views. There is a nearby cliff where you can see the entire mountain range and the clear sky. Next, you will head to Sialsuk village where the Sialsuk Tlang peak is. This peak is visited by tourists all year round for its magnificent views of the mountain range and meadows. You can have evening snacks and refreshments here. You can also take a walk through the village to visit a Mizo family. This is the best way to experience the local cuisine, traditions, and way of life. The tour ends with your journey to Aizawl city where you will get to see the beautiful sunset. You can finally relax at the camps here along with a delicious dinner and bonfire.

Serlui B
The picturesque Serlui lake is located about an hour drive from Kolasib Town and is a perfect weekend destination. Formed with the construction of the dam of the Serlui Hydel Project, the riverine lake extends upriver and meanders through the valley of River Serlui, spreading out into wide pools at many points in the midst of thick forests and coursing between lush-green hills. The 53 km long inundation of the valley can be seen even from the NH-54. The Department of Tourism has developed an accommodation infrastructure which is expected to be commissioned shortly. Plans are also being drawn for development of water sport facilities and Eco-Tourism center. The Department of Tourism has also developed a Pisciculture center using the dam as its base.

Castle of Beino
Culminating the high spring flows across the majestic rock structures, The Castle of Being is a lesser-explored grand canyon of Northeast India. Kolodyne or Kaladan is a river that originates from the forests of Myanmar and enters Mizoram through the Sittwe region. This river is known as Chhimpuitui in the Mizo dialect, the river is known to form one of the most spectacular terraforming zone, unknown to many. Called the Grand Canyon of Mizoram, the Castle of Bawinu or Beino stands majestically, offering a wonderland to the people of Northeast India. Hiking in this difficult terrain can be a beautiful experience. The formation is not accessible during the monsoon season, the ideal time to visit is during the month of February to May. A motorboat can be hired to wander the whole area. A local guide with a good knowledge of the area can also be hired. The boat journey starts from the village Lomasu to Saphaw from where the castle of Beino can be sighted. Access to Saphaw is via Lungdar in Saiha District or Tuidang on the Lai District side is easier. Each part of this Geological Marvel is a separate quarter of the Castle. The Structures resemble like soldiers are standing in the main entrance, Also the structure is looking like the Kitchen and the great hall of the Queen. The River water is crystalline, creating a beautiful reflection of the structure and making it a fascinating view. The area is home to some beautiful birds and animals, making it a suitable location for watching the wildlife.

Hmuifang Tlang
Hmuifang Tourist Resort is an ideal getaway located at the scenic peak of Hmuifang mountain, 50 kms to the south of Aizawl. With an elevation of 1619 metres, the mountain is still covered with virgin forests reserved since the days of the Sailo chiefs. In fact, the resort was built right on the former land of Lallianvunga the erstwhile chief who used to rule over the villages in the mountain. Here in the midst of nature the resort has comfortable accommodation offering 6 double rooms and a lovely cafeteria. The patches of grassy glades on the peak are also suitable for picnics and outdoor camping. From here one may visit the four Mizo villages situated on the hillsides, Hmuifang, Sumsuih, Lamchhip and Chamring to see the typical rural life of the Mizos

Mawmrang Tlang
The majestic peak lies on the eastern corner of Mizoram in Saitual Dist. It is about 180 from Aizawl the State Capital of Mizoram. It is named after an evergreen tree called ‘Hriang’ and Mual means ground, deriving the name as ‘Hriangmual’ Hriangmual stands majestically just outskirts of Phuaibuang Village.It is a destination which is hardly explored, and is covered by evergreen trees. It is the home of wild animals like Stag, Deer, wild boar, Monkeys, and many birds. It is rich in floral and fauna. Talan River flows inside the forest of Hriangmual. There is also a Cave inside Hriangmual forest known as Fangfar Puk and is about 15/20 feet wide. There are Stalagmite inside this cave and water dripping from these stalamite are collected by locals for medical use. It is believed that these water have healing properties and are widly used for the treatment of various illness. It is believed that Thado, Ngendal tribe used to live in these forest of Hriangmual during the late 1800. Thousands of monolithic remains can be seen inside of this Hriangmual Forest which are believed to be made by the Thado Tribe.There are six Stone tables which are preserved and can be seen till today. Adjacent to these stone tables there are Monolith surrounded by many countless smaller stones. INTACH Mizoram Chapter is doing an extensive study on these Monolith, and hope to throw lights on the history of the Mizo. Phuaibung Village are strictly monitoring for the protection and conservation of this beautiful Hriangmual Peak. The best time to visit would be from November-March. Indeed Mizoram is untouched and yet to be explored.

The first-ever skywalk in Mizoram is the Aizawl Peak Resort Skywalk, located at Hangi Lunglen Tlang, Aizawl.

Solomon's Temple
A non denominational church founded by Dr. L.B. Sailo in 1984 built Solomon's Temple. They are known as 'Kohhran Thianghlim' locally andthe "Holy Church" in English. Members are known as 'the elects'. Dr. LB Sailo, the founder of the Holy Church saw a vision in his dream to build Solomon’s Temple in the year 1991. He was informed the detailed design and structure of the Temple. As per God’s instruction, construction began in 1996 at Chawlhhmun with donations coming in from members of the Church. The valley in which the temple is built is named as Kidron Valley which is 10 Kms from the heart of Aizawl City. Though the temple is under construction it is nearing completion and is the most visited site in Aizawl by tourists.
